Were people in the 1970's blind?
Today was my birthday and it was a good day as they usually turn out to be after my initial panic attack over my age. Thank you to everyone who remembered and sent me email. I thought I would share some of the horror that was shared with me today. See my husband is a tech geek and loves any excuse to buy some new toy for his computer. This year he noticed the old slides I had from my childhood. For most of the 70's my mother thought it was a good idea to have all of our pictures developed as slides. The problem with this is that we can never see them unless someone happens to find a slide projector at a garage sale. Tim bought himself a scanner that will turn your old slides into real pictures. So now I am seeing pictures I have never really seen before. I know old pictures always look strange but the 70's seem especially horrible. Where was Tim Gunn when we needed him! Enjoy and try to laugh too loudly.

Isn't it weird how the present always feels "right", but when you look back at the past, it very often seems "wrong". Yet, at that moment in time, when the past was the present, it didn't feel so wrong, it felt just right. Take a look around you now, it all seems okay, don't you think? Well, take a picture and wait 10, 20, or 30 years. Then, it will look as odd as the 1970's. Odd, don't you think? - BUT, some pasts DO look right. For example, i think the 1940's look great. I wonder if someday the 1970's will look this way? Probably not to me, but to some future generation. That kind of scares me to think about it! - anyway, great photos. Thanks for sharing.
Ummm...I had that bunny in pink, too! Kate, I often think the same thing, when looking at old photos. Shoot, I was thinking this when cleaning out my closet a few weeks back - - unfortunately these were clothes from less than 5 years ago though. Scary. The pictures were great, thanks for sharing.
WOW! Check out those clothes - fantastic ;) I know I had that bunny too, funny the things that are common to many of us from back then. Nice to step back in time once in a while. Hope your Birthday was great!
