It Only Took A Year

For over a year I have been using this LL Bean bag as my purse. Not the most attractive thing. I looked like a preschool teacher toting this around. I wanted a purse that was big enough to hold a book but wouldn't put my back out. I didn't want anything with fake fur on it or shiny patent leather. I didn't want anything in silver lame, animal print, or designed by Jennifer Lopez. I didn't want anything quilted, in snakeskin or crocodile, or studded with rhinestones. Apparently this is too much to ask. What I really wanted was a simple brown leather messenger bag. Something a public defender or Indiana Jones would carry. These cost about $200 so that was not an option.

A year was long enough for me so I went with this plaid wool bag. It's smaller but I'm getting used to it. I think I have been having Grunge flashbacks since I saw the Pearl Jam documentary. I think I might need to get a new pair of Doc Martens to go with it.
