My name is Kate and I have never learned how to crimp a pie crust.
My pie crusts always end up looking ragged like this. I have read how to do it and I might even have watched a video on YouTube. It's no use though-I can't reproduce it. I know it involves using your knuckles or something.
In my defense though, the pie crust recipe I used this year turned out extra gooey. I might have accidentally used 2 eggs instead of 1. I'm hoping that's what will make it flaky but it wasn't going to hold any sort of shape. I was lucky I could even get it into the plate in one piece.
Never the less, we have 2 pies ready to go for Thanksgiving and I will just ignore the fact that they are not pretty.
