Movie Day

Declan was supposed to have his first away soccer game today. Three days of rain cancelled that. He was more than bummed out about it. I tried to think of something else fun we could do on a rainy day to cheer him up. All I could really come up with was going to the movies. Surprisingly, no one seemed that excited about when I told them which is the exact opposite of what usually happens. I have to admit I wasn't that excited about it because I knew it would be crowded with other people also trying to escape the rain.

I also thought about the price of 3 tickets and popcorn and then I decided we were doing a movie day at home. Redbox to the rescue! We never go to the Redbox so the kids were excited about that. They picked out 2 movies and settled in for the afternoon.

We also picked up drinks and candy and I popped some popcorn.

I brought our little TV into Grace's room and they settled in for an afternoon of movie watching. I settled in for a quiet afternoon where I could get some things done including this post. I didn't hear a peep from them for a few hours.

Even Carly wanted in on it. She mostly wanted in on the popcorn. Eventually she gave up on that and settled down on Grace's floor for a nap. I can see us doing this more as winter approaches.

If Only I Could Do This At Every Store...

I have been doing the crazy couponing things for a few months now. I mostly use them at the grocery store and I usually save $20-$40 off my bill. It's never been insane savings but I'll take it. Tonight though, I had one of those extreme couponing moments at AC Moore.

I got everything you see here before you for 84 cents! I didn't even mean to do it but that's how it rang up. I had earned a $10 coupon using their rewards card plus I had some of their weekly coupons. In all, I got a new candle to combat the doggy smell, some blue beads that I will make into a necklace, 2 magnetic backed pads of paper that I put on my fridge and 2 bags of hard candy.

I've never had a receipt that looks like this. I would love to duplicate it at the grocery store since that's where most of my money goes these days.
